How Things Get Done

I come from a family that has always recognized the dignity of work and the necessity of doing it to achieve your goals.  And I come from a community that preaches, teaches, and models generosity, neighborliness, solidarity, and discernment. I'll bring those habits to my work as a City Commissioner. That's how things get done.
Key Issues
Water

Newton residents need a safe, stable source water supply that is affordable to everyone. Anger about water prices is a barrier to solving other problems. We can make our water bills fair and affordable while managing resources responsibly.

Safe, affordable housing

Every resident safely housed--it should be our goal. We can keep Newton affordable, especially for young families and older residents, while maintaining safe neighborhoods.

Emergency preparedness

The primary purpose of government is to be prepared for an emergency. That goes beyond providing basic necessities when disaster strikes to fostering a community that can work together and "bounce forward" when challenges arise.

A vibrant, growing Newton

Newton has so much to offer--let's make that clearer to talented young adults, families searching for good schools and safe neighborhoods for children, telecommuters and hardworking midcareer adults in search of new horizons, and retirees ready for new adventure.
